Product Overview

The MK31 is a ring laser gyro (RLG) inertial navigation system that provides accurate heading, attitude and positional data for a wide range of naval vessels including frigates, patrol vessels and submarines. It is ideal for customers seeking a cost-effective and reliable solution for navigation and control of onboard radar, weapon, and satellite systems.

The system is easy to install, configure and operate. With extremely fast alignment alongside and at sea, the unit provides highly accurate heading, attitude and positional data even in the most extreme sea states. The complete system uses solid state technology so no maintenance is required to keep the MK31 fully operational.

Available as a surface unit only, the MK31 is fully IMO approved for high speed craft and type approved to the Marine Equipment Directive. It is tested and qualified to MIL-STD for vibration, shock and EMC to meet the demands of the defense industry. MK31 provides 6 arc min secant latitude RMS heading accuracy, and a position accuracy of 1nm/8 hours, as well as attitude capabilities in roll, pitch and heave.​
