Product Overview
The Teledyne Parasound is the best in class marine sub-bottom profiler providing full ocean depth range and >200 m sediment penetration. With 4.5° beam width and 15 cm vertical sediment resolution gathered in the innovative QED multiping mode, the ParaSound provides unique data density that unveils sub-sea structures at an unrivalled sharpness. The ParaSound is the most versatile tool for ocean science and offshore survey in sediment profiling, water column imaging, for full motion stabilized narrow singlebeam echosounding and multibeam sub-bottom scanning.
The ParaSound is the most advanced hull mounted parametric sub-bottom profiler in the market. It utilises the parametric effect to generate a low frequency secondary signal by emitting two primary signals of higher frequencies. In comparison with traditional towed systems the ParaSound family offers very narrow transmission angle and greater positioning accuracy as well as higher operational speed and availability.
These sub-bottom profilers are suitable for operations to depths beyond the continental rise into the abyssal plains and down to the deep ocean trenches.
Two product variants – depending on bottom penetration requirements – are available:
ParaSound P35
Due to its 35 kW transmission power the ParaSound P35 provides depth range from 10 m to 11,000 m and sediment penetration of more than 150 m.
ParaSound P70
Due to its 70 kW transmission power the ParaSound P70 provides depth range from 10 m to 11,000 m and sediment penetration of more than 200 m.
